As someone who has always been a PC and Windows user, deciding to purchase a Mac when it came time to upgrade to a new laptop computer came surprisingly easy.
I'm not a disgruntled PC user; actually far from it. I currently have at least four PCs running on my home network at any one time, mostly two laptops and two desktops, running a combination of Windows XP Pro, Home and Windows 2000.
Most of the software I use was designed to run on Windows 98 or 2000, and only one of my desktop computers has a CPU faster than 1 GHz.
I really like Windows XP, and, based on what I had read, I wasn't very interested in upgrading to a Windows Vista computer. And, since I wanted to feel like I was progressing, I also didn't want to buy a new computer with the same Windows XP Operating System I was currently using. That's what initially made me look into Apple.
The more research I did, and the more I read about the MacBook Pro line, the more I thought a MacBook Pro would be the right laptop for me. Then, it only became a matter of which MacBook Pro to choose.
After much deliberation, I decided on the 2.53GHz 13 Inch MacBook Pro. I chose the 13 inch because I wanted a highly portable laptop, and with the 2.53 GHz MacBook, I got both power and portability.
I created this site to share my impressions and experiences with the MacBook Pro, from a Windows PC user perspective. |
